we ran like two murderers in the dark in different directions hoping for a second glance every new idea sprang from our mouths hoping to crush like a thousand butterflies awake on the forest floor at dawn did you see the world and sky through my eyes stitching together pieces of light they're worn now but they still keep me warm a broken memory is better than a lie in an envelope i always said that i loved you but you never said that i was yours i always heard that you loved me but i never heard that you were mine the days we wove together like hand-woven bracelets ran like trains through the night you sat on the floor in some distant hall your back on the wall your eyes in my heart on the river's edge in the crowded field or the grass in the morning with luck to spare forest queen time has made us change but the same is i want to stay with you

there is so much between us maybe it's only air i see the waves the pulses i feel the open sky wandering climbing a skeleton middle of the night conversations getting lost amongst the lights and i want to have time with you and i want to know you kindly i fell through time and drowned in space bearing a prayer in my heart known beyond time sun-stained rose frozen earth the quivering hand of confusion our ships are sining our swords are crossing scrounging for songs in the dark you are my favorite ghost haunting my mind passing moonrise cast me as a small shadow a face in the window but no more reflections of distance between the morning only brings more silence my hopes no more than a wish
